decoupage table and chairs from D for Daisy

We’re big fans here at BG of mumpreneurs and as more and more of us find ourselves ditching the corporate hamster wheel to work for ourselves and inject more work life balance, it’s opening up a wealth of creativity as mums everywhere start building their own businesses.

My latest find, D for Daisy (thanks to my friend Eve for the tip off) is one such woman, Sarah. Based in Scotland, she has created a range of bespoke products that have been inspired by her daughter and I have instantly fallen in love with her Decoupage Chairs and Tables.

Each piece of furniture is decoupaged in the comic strip of your choice by hand, so for instance the furniture featured uses the iconic Beano. Over a period of several days, it’s given 5 coats of varnish to ensure its durability, and the end result is a contemporary, bespoke gift that be key pieces of furniture in your child’s living space.

Any comic strip can be used and they recommend Beano, Dandy, Futurama, the Simpsons, and Spiderman. Shame I don’t have any old copies of Bunty around… They also do adult sizes although you need to contact Sarah for a quote. I wonder if you could cover them in Vogue’s, Living Etc, or for the celeb addict, Heat…

The chairs are £75 each and the tables are £65 and because they are bespoke they take about 7-10 days for delivery.

I have certainly become an instant fan and aside from her fab furniture, there are decoupage frames and hippo-centric watercolours and cards.

Check out D for Daisy.
