You are probably already aware of Merrilee Liddiard without knowing it. She’s the mama behind the brilliant crafting blog Mer Mag – we’ve featured many of her projects over the years. One of my favourite posts was A Doll to Craft With, where she made a giant doll for her little girl to make things for. It seemed such a good idea and the doll was beautiful, but the dolls were made to order and only available to US customers. Well, now, a year on, Merrilee has opened her own store, featuring her gorgeous cloth doll designs and they ship internationally. I adore them – over-sized dolls are always a hit with Kitty, she loves her Bad Eye Lily and has a huge rag doll one of my mum’s friends’ made her. These seem so huggable, I love their hand-painted expressions and I can imagine them instigating hours of pretend play. Certainly not cheap at just over £100 (including shipping), but definitely an heirloom.
