Cool iPhone App’s for Toddlers: Speak, Piggy!

Until now, we’ve regarded Peekaboo Barn and Wild as the most beautifully illustrated iPhone apps for children but jostling for that crown is Speak, Piggy! by A Modern Eden is another animal app. Stylised animals with a hint of origami are in stunning pastels mixed with warm neutrals and crosshatch detail. Press ‘say name’ and a cute child’s voice calls out the name and pressing ‘play sound’ gives the very cute animal sounds – from a design perspective these buttons could do with being a bit bigger/obvious as it makes the app not as instinctively intuitive as others although admittedly showing your child a couple of times quickly cures that. The name of the animal is also spelt out above for kids learning to read and spell plus We’re also loving that the animals are split into different habitats – house, farm, and world. As for the price – 59p hooks you a beautiful app. Nice!

The designers A Modern Eden’s shop is chock full of temptation – bags and posters in equally delectable designs. Sadly they’re not shipping to the UK yet but apparently they will be soon!
