Light up your child’s room with our current pick of stylish animal themed lamps, wall lights, and night lights.

My PetLamp - Dachshund Light Howee Pup Graffiti Lamp

One of my favourite online stores, Nubie, really hits the right note with unusual children’s lighting by hip US brand Offi. Take your pick from either the stylish My PetLamp Dachshund Light (left) or the Howee Pup Graffiti Lamp (right). For those who are creative and delight in customising things, you’ll be pleased to know that the Howee Pup Graffiti Lamp, as the name suggests, comes complete with red and black marker pens which can be used to customise the lamp with your own patterns or Banksy style graffiti.

Each light uses a low voltage 12 watt bulb, making them perfect quirky night lights for your little tots. Each light is £52 and both are available in a variety of colours. I’m coveting the Dachshund light for my own bedroom – It’s about the closest I’ll get to owning a dog at the moment… Two kids and a dog will tip Hubby over the edge methinks!

Pigeon Wall Light by Thorsten Van Eltenpink Pigeon Wall Light by thorsten van elten

Another favourite in the lighting department is the design classic Pigeon wall light by Ed Carpenter for Thorsten Van Elten. This light attaches to the wall by a retro clothes peg and comes in a variety of colours. It’s £59 and is widely available on-line, including from the Little Baby Company, Yellow Lolly, and in store at Liberty.

We featured these super cool illuminating pet lights from Leigh Harmer last year. Made from lightweight polypropylene, you can sit them on a floor or side table, and they’re safe enough to be used as nightlights and they can also be picked up by your child. You can get a cat, sheep, or dog with prices ranging from £34.50 – £48.30
