Christmas shopping at Oliver Bonas

I’m a sucker for a gift shop, and when we lived in South West London I used to spend some contented times pottering around the branch of Oliver Bonas in Clapham. Now we’ve moved away from such fripperies, into the wasteland of pound shops and takeaways, I had a happy online moment when I realised that they do a pretty good selection in the Oliver Bonas online store.

What’s really nice is that the online range is reasonably small, but all well-chosen – Perfect for anyone who hasn’t finished (or, ahem, started) their Christmas shopping yet. Or indeed, perfect for shopping for your own baby, in order to postpone the horror of thinking about Christmas shopping!

I have totally fallen in love with this knitted sleepsuit coat. Sadly it’s only available in 0 – 6 months, and even my passionate love affair with baby knits and stripes can’t quite justify forking out £38.00 for something that will only last my 5 month old for one more month. (Actually, this might be a good thing, since it will force me to buy it as a present for someone else…)

I’m not normally a fan of slogan wear for babies, but this ‘bright-eyed and bushy tailed’ t-shirt caught my eye. I love the combination of the jaunty stripes, and the lettering over the top. Was it just my mother who constantly used this expression when I was small, or is this a generic parent-thing? Anyway, it’s available in sizes 6 months, and 12 months (18 months is sold out) , and is £15.

In the Toys & Games section of the site, they also have a limited but lovely selection. My eye was caught by these stacking blocks, which are the slightly random price of £21.53. My little one is far too small to have yet discovered such joys as stacking, but these would look pretty good in the nursery, or there are plenty of other older babies who would be delighted to find these under the tree.

So, the kids section. In my opinion, small but perfectly formed. And delivery is £3.95, or express / next day delivery is £7.50.
