Now it’s December, Christmas seems to have notched up a gear! And we’re feeling festive here at BG so along with the gift guides we’re bringing you some of the best decor, craft and stationery in our 12 Best series. Did you see our feature on cards and alternative advent calendars? Today is all about the gift wrapping, and here are 12 ideas to inspire you…
Reindeer Noses. This is so cool. I’d like all my presents wrapped like this please! Just get a stamp, and then mini pompoms or felt balls (which you can get everywhere) as noses. This will obviously work for any animal.
Coloured Buttons. A really sweet way to add detail to a present. Will work well on smaller gifts and looks fab on little boxes.
Embroidered Gift Wrap. A little wrapping paper, a needle and some yarn. Simple, yet beautiful, and a nice way to while away a cosy evening in front of the TV.
Interactive Gift Wrap. The kids will love this and they will look fab under the tree too – a brilliant idea.
Crepe Paper Fringe. A really fun way to decorate a gift. You just need a couple of sheets of crepe paper, glue (or double sided tape for less mess!) and scissors.
Free Printable Bauble Tags and Twine. These look fab – just print, punch, then tie with twine or ribbon.
Carve a Stamp Hearts. This wrap was made via the Carve a Stamp kit. The hearts look springlike, but you could make any stamp pattern to create a festive pattern.
Pom Pom Gift Wrap. I love pom poms and have been busy making a garland. But now I’ve seen this, I will be adding a pom pom or two to my gifts as well.
Gift tags made of scraps of fabric and a sharpie. I really love this. You could get so creative with it. I can’t find the original source, but if it’s your image, please leave a comment below and I will credit you.
Felt Roses. These take a little bit more effort, but can double up as a brooch too, so a gift with a gift. Visit the site to get full instructions and see a number of variations.
Fun with Fonts. A great way to personalise gifts by using lettering in any type of paper – old maps, sheet music, or even pages from glossy mags. I think a simple wrap with the letters cut in a decorative Christmas paper would look very stylish.
