grey catherine tough lambswool bedsocks

Although I’m really hoping for a home birth, I’m packing the dreaded hospital bag just in case. It’s all been fairly straightforward, apart from one item that crops up on all the lists. I’m told your feet can get chilly in labour so a pair of warm socks is a must. Not being a sock kinda gal I’ve been trawling the web for the perfect cosy (and, naturally, super-stylish) pair. That’s when I discovered Catherine Tough who offers a huge range of lambswool bedsocks.catherine tough egg cosy

I’ve opted for plain but chic short grey, £10, but if you want to get noticed, the clementine and white flower versions, £18, should do the trick.

I also couldn’t resist the lambswool hottie covers – well it might come in handy for labour – or the lavender butterflies for my wardrobe, while the egg cosies make ideal Easter gifts.

And all goodies are handmade in Hackney – what’s not to love?

I remember when I had my first baby, I spend ages packing and re-packing my bag with everything under the sun in it. When the time came, in the drama of it all, it got left behind on the ward and I was in delivery suite for another 12 hours of labour without any of my things! I was gutted.
