So I’ve been trying out a couple of ‘real’ nappies for the past few weeks courtesy of one of my favourite stores, Fill Your Pants.
Let me give you a bit of background to me: I have a one year old (the bambino) and the boyf, who goes through phases of travelling a lot with [...]

Review: SnugBaby MeiTei Carrier
June 25th, 2008 · No Comments
I have become an unexpected fan of ‘baby wearing’. I had all but given up on it after feeling the strain from my Baby Bjorn but now, both the boyf and I are regularly using our sling (a Baby Bisou). So I was naturally quite excited to try out a few slings over the past few weeks, with a particular interest in the SnugBaby because it’s in the Mei Tei Style. SnugBaby is run by Claire, fab contributor to Bambino Goodies and mum to two.
Testers: Moi, 5ft 3, 24lb something bambino, plus Mandy, 5ft 7, 17lb baby. Mandy walks everyday for at least an hour with her two dogs and baby (sta-mi-na!). Both babies are very active. I did try to get the boyf to put it on but he point blank refused moaning about looking like a girl…

When we realised the strange buzzing sound was coming from our ancient second (or third) hand baby monitor I decided it was time to find a new one.
The Testers: Family Geek.
Appearance:You won’t be seeing it in Bang & Olufsen but as monitors go it looks nice. I like the white and blue combination and [...]

My due date came and went. Days (and weeks) passed and still no baby so I occupied myself with filling my hospital bag. I hardly used any of the contents but it made me happy to have it. One item which was in use long before we got to hospital was my Elle TENs [...]

Review: This Mama LOVES Wii Fit

Use Set up is actually pretty straightforward and it wasn’t long before I was weighing myself, doing a balance test (my centre of gravity is slightly to the right) where it also declared that I had the fitness age of a 60 year old!… My favourites are step aerobics, the boxercise, hula hooping (exhausting), the various balance games where I am challenging the boyf and the little bro (they’ve beat me on a few of them), and I’m getting into yoga.

Review: Baby Bisou
May 14th, 2008 · No Comments
There are 3 positions: Pouch (for younger babies), Backpack, or Kangeroo carry It’s 100% breathable cotton and machine washable You can breastfeed in it Can be used on women with waist 24″ to 44″ waists Suitable from 3 months to 40lbs Appearance: They look fantastic and unusual with a really great selection of prints…. Baby Bisou’s (excluding backpack mode) can only be used with your baby facing you as they feel it is better for reducing pressure on your babies bones and also promotes eye contact and enabling them to take cues from you , say about strange sounds that they may hear.

Review: Sniglar Changing Table
May 1st, 2008 · No Comments
I am actually quite excited about being able to buy more Ikea products online (I’ve been wanting to go there for about 6 weeks but haven’t been able to face the thought of chasing my ‘tail’ going around in circles in a crowd) but I am quite disappointed that ‘full’ doesn’t actually mean full if you’re in the childrens department with most things unavailable to add to your shopping basket…. It’s easier if you buy the changing mat from Ikea however, because the bambino seems to be really tall, it’s actually worked in our favour that we had a slightly bigger one from Mothercare which stops her feet from hitting the edge of the table.

Review: Braun 4520 Thermoscan Ear Thermometer

I can’t remember where I originally read up about ear thermometers but on discovering that different types of thermometers give different readings and that the ear was the best spot, I decided to invest in an ear thermometer.

Product Review: I Love my Svan Highchair
February 5th, 2008 · No Comments
So towards the back end of last year I spent a lot of time agonising over which highchair to buy and in the end, I went with the Svan highchair. I note that it’s now becoming popular with celebs after reading that Jessica Alba was given one at her televised baby shower with Tyra Banks…
Anyway… [...]
