Breastvest

I must admit I’m not too fussed about buying breastfeeding ‘attire’ as I prefer to wear as much of my normal clothing as possible, so aside from ‘accessibility’, my chief concern is actually making sure I’m not showing off my tummy (really, I must start exercising properly instead of hoofing down eclairs) and so I can actually see the value in a product like the Breastvest.

Instead of fiddling around a lot of trying to pull your boob through not so flexible clothing that’s not been designed for this purpose…, the Breastvest is basically a vest with the breast area missing to make it easier to access your nursing bra by just lifting up your top and your tummy remains covered up. It’s got thin straps so that it doesn’t get in the way of your bra and of course, can still be worn during pregnancy, where again you might be trying stop the breeze from hitting your tummy. Available in several colours, they’re £15 each.

It looks good but I have found that a £1.50 stretchy vest from Primark does effectively the same thing.

I used normal vests during my first crack at breastfeeding, but found and used the breastvest second time around and can honestly say that it made a big difference.
It means you don’t have to have the vest showing at all as part of you outfit’s neckline because it sits under your nursing bra… so you really can wear what you want.
I also agree with the reviewer that it doesn’t interfere at all with either your top or your nursing bra. When I wore normal vests, i used to get mself in a tangle, trying to pull the top of the vest uder my breast to feed. Never really got the hang of doing it discreetly!
I bought one breastvest and then went back and bought another three!
