Boodalee at Little Baby Company

I’m quite excited about the arrival of US brand Boodalee to the fab Little Baby Company.
Boodalee is the creation of Jeanice Skvaril who, afraid of subjecting her child and her home to commercial, licensed bedding featuring children’s TV characters, set about creating a range of bedding and soft furnishings that were perfect for children and captured their imagination, whilst also being stylish enough for their home.
She’s put her graphic and product design background to good use and created beautiful, bold products with standout graphics and timeless appeal. They combine “cool sensibility with an urban twist” to a tee and the fabric in the pillows is printed with non-toxic pigment dyes and filled with an eco-friendly insert made of fiber spun from corn. There’s a graphic on each side of the pillow and personally, I think they’re so gorgeous, I’m sure they’ll make their way out of the bedroom.
They are £29 each at Little Baby Company. Unfortunately they aren’t selling the full on bedding yet but I am keeping my fingers and toes crossed that they will be soon!

I looked at the Boodalee bedding you recommended, especially as my cousins in US have just moved and I am looking for new home gifts for them, as well as new bedding for my kids. So my cousins have new Boodalee on the way to them!
I didn’t find anything I really liked for my kids, but found the same type of anti-cartoon ethos in kids bed linen and cushions at Designers Guild. A friend of mine works for them and gave me a heads up that the new collections were due this month, so I have been keeping an eye on the site and they are there today!
The designs for children are really good – with a range for younger and older kids, some of the adult linens does come in single sizes as well for teenagers. Bedding, cushions and rugs can be bought online, but I found out that I had to go to an authorised fabric stockist to get curtains made up if I wanted to really accessorise my childrens bedroom. That’s not too much of a problem because the stockists are around the UK so I will easily find one in my area. I have not chosen how to go – I love the cushions and rugs so I cold just go with a plain duvet and put in pillow cases and cushions for the prints and the rug on the floor, with curtains to match the duvet – can you tell I am excited?
Thanks for the Boodalee – my Aunt thinks they will be perfect for the kids – hope you like the Designers Guild stuff too
I am a huge Designers Guild fan. We sleep with three of their cushions and pillows and one of our lazing around blankets is from them. I would be pretty excited to be stocking up on this gear you lucky thing! I’m very impressed with Boodalee also and I just say thank God there are brands out there that realise that I don’t want bedding with cartoon characters or cheap and cheerful tacky children’s images. Enjoy!
