Bolmen Stool from Ikea

It’s amazing what you pick up at Ikea as you wander round. My friend’s Mother came back with a couple of these stools which have revolutionised the homes of our gang.

The Bolmen Stool is part of the bathroom range and unlike the kid’s Forsiktig Stool designed to help children reach higher surfaces or sinks it is actually big enough to make a difference. We have two of these stools, one for the bathroom and one for the kitchen, and my daughter revels in her elevated status. At a petite 84cm (average height of an 18 month old) she is able to help in the kitchen or reach the taps in the bathroom. While it may not have the all round safety of a FunPod it is easy to store and a total steal at £4.99.

Just bought one of these recently – my son is so thrilled with himself that he can finally reach everything and has become so independent! Must get another too for the kitchen x

I agree about the independence which is something so touching to see. A word of warning for the litchen – check what they can reach in your drawers etc as Milla has rooted through our drawers thoroughly now she can reach them!
