Andrea Williamson’s Knitted Clocks

May 21, 2010 by · Leave a Comment

Textile artists are producing the most amazing products these days and Andrea Williamson is a name to remember. She lives and works on the Shetland Isle of Whalsay creating knitted goods inspired by traditional Shetland patterns.

Her lambswool clocks are seriously desirable. Drawing inspiration from the design of cuckoo clocks and adding elements of traditional nursery rhymes Andrea has mixed tactile and mechanical to create something sublime. I love the (what’s the time?) Mr Wolf Cuckoo Clock (above left) where the clock face is always set for dinner time. The hanging motifs take the place of pendulums and would look great in a nursery with high ceilings.

The clocks are £195 each and you can see Andrea’s full range in her gallery and place orders through her site.
